Claudine KOHLER
Claudine Kohler has played a pivotal and continuously expanding role in the Textile Society of Thailand (TTS), predominantly focusing on modernizing its administrative and digital infrastructure since joining the committee in December 2021.
Her initial responsibilities immediately included membership management and electronic communications, encompassing the website, Facebook, program notices, and the newsletter. She swiftly established a dedicated email account for membership to ensure seamless transitions for future chairpersons. By April 2022, she formally assumed the role of Membership Chairperson in addition to her technical commitments, consistently reporting on membership activities, renewals, and new members, and clarifying membership categories. She also updated membership forms to include the SWIFT code for overseas payments. In January 2023, following a committee vote, she was responsible for announcing an increase in the TTS annual membership fee from B600 to B800 to members via email and Facebook.
A significant area of Claudine's impact has been the revitalization of the TTS's digital presence:
Website Redesign and Management: Recognizing the website as outdated, she actively worked on its redesign. She, along with Ake Rittinaphakorn and Dimpy Kongsiri, met with a Thai web designer to develop a new, user-friendly website. She gained access to and cleaned up the Facebook subscriber list.
E-Magazine Development: She contributed to the successful launch of the "Pah Thai Magazine" by creating a dedicated email address for the publication.
Professionalization of Digital Tools: In a transformative move for the society, Claudine, in collaboration with Dimpy and Caroline Sato, successfully registered the TTS with Goodstack to secure free subscriptions for Canva and Google Workspace (including email templates, a centralized system for membership, communications, event programs, and archives), significantly enhancing the society's operational professionalism and reducing costs.
Social Media Expansion: She initiated and managed the TTS's Instagram account.
Beyond digital aspects, Claudine contributed to overall operational efficiency and financial processes:
She established a new email address for the treasurer to centralize financial communications.
She, along with Dimpy, took steps to update bank signatories to streamline financial management and ensure electronic access to bank statements.
She undertook the task of streamlining receipt and payment slips for clearer financial reporting.
She participated in discussions for program ideas, ensuring effective communication and outreach for events.
Claudine's role has been instrumental in modernizing the TTS's internal and external communications, enhancing its digital presence, and improving its administrative efficiency, laying a strong foundation for the society's future operations.
